Parking Near MinorOak Coworking 5

MinorOak Coworking is located in Sneinton Market, across Gedling Street from the Lime Green Organic Vegan sign. Sneinton Market is picking up steam, and Hockley is just across Lower Parliament Street (the A60). We’re central enough to be walking distance from everything, but slightly to the east of the city centre where traffic is manageable, the streets are easier to navigate, and parking is more affordable.

Reaching MinorOak Coworking By Car

Reaching MinorOak by car is easy, but it takes a little background knowledge.

Nelson Street is the only way to get into Sneinton Market, and it looks almost like a laneway. You can make a left or right turn onto Nelson Street from Southwell Road (Carlton Road – A612). Southwell Road is easily accessible from the A60 – Lower Parliament Street.

It’s a little tricky the first time you come here, but it’s simple once you know how.

Along Gedling Street, you’ll find a Subway, MinorOak, The Watered Garden, Get Crooked, Blend Coffee Shop and Cafe, GB Cafe, Avenues Cafe, and One BC. And that’s just on Gedling Street – more and more creative businesses are moving into Sneinton Market. You can find many of us on the Sneinton Market Avenues site list of tenants.

You can no longer park on Nelson Street, and Gedling Street is twice as expensive as Brook Street – you’re better off turning that corner (and continuing on a bit unless you have a sticker – the spots just around the corner are Disabled) before parking.

Anyway…

Once you’re on Brook Street, you’ve got a few parking options. You may find all the information you need on Parkopedia, but here are my top tips.

Day Parking Summary:

  • Street Parking, Brook Street or Bath Street: £1.20/hour by card, cash or app
  • Stone Bridge Road area: £2.40 for 36 hours using RingGo. I park here when I bring my car.
  • Sneinton Market Square (Aberdeen St.).
  • Another option is to put your car at one of Nottingham’s Park and Ride sites and take public transport in. We are. 5-minute walk from the Lace Market tram stop and pretty much any city centre bus stops within 10 minutes of us. The red and lavender buses drive right past Sneinton Market.

Parking for Virtual Office Clients

If you’re stopping by MinorOak Coworking to pick up your mail, message or e-mail me to let me know you’re coming and you can just leave the car out front; I’ll have your mail ready for you. There’s an area in front of MinorOak where cars can easily pull in for a minute or two without blocking traffic.

Parking for a Few Hours

I would recommend Brook Street or Bath Street. You can pay by card, online or using cash.

Parking All Day

I’d recommend Stone Bridge Road or the Sneinton Market Square (Aberdeen Street) Car Park.

Parking Regularly Throughout the Month

You can get a City Council on-street season card for as little as £50 a month.

Don’t let MinorOak’s central location deter you – parking’s reasonably priced and close by, and MinorOak is easy to get to by using public transport, too!

In fact, public transport is a better option than driving for many (I often take the bus). MinorOak is a five-minute walk from the Lace Market tram stop and a 2-10 minute walk from city centre bus stops. If you’re inside Nottingham, consider taking the bus, riding a bike or walking. If you’re coming in from outside the city, consider using one of the Park and Ride car parks and taking the tram to Lace Market.
